Updateable Dashboards

That being said you may or may not run in to limitations based on licensing, i.e. certain BO’s may not be available thru an updateable based on an MES screen becase of how they restrict access to the main erp system via licensing. There are legitimate ways around that though….

I didn’t know that, but I just tried it and it did work. Makes sense, since it is just a dashboard.

If you mean call/invoke an updateable dashboard from the MES screen/menu, yes you can.

In Epicor 9.05.702a, is it possible to create updateable dashboards into MES and if so, do they work properly.

Thx

Good Afternoon,

We are interested in creating some updateable dashboards to allow gatekeeper users to review/update summary data with ease. For example, we are working on Customers right now. I had been hoping to do this solely with updateable dashboard, no customization on top, but find our hands tied. In order to enter country for example, the ID assigned to US will have to get entered, eg countryID=9 for US. In order to provide a drop down, we'd need a customization layer, I believe. In order to limit to list, we'd need a bpm, I believe.

How are other folks out there handling this problem where need to limit to list, need to expose text not just ids?

Back when I worked in Access alot, I could show one column (the description) and bind another invisible one (the ID). Am I missing an easier solution or should I bite the bullet and press on with customization?

thanks,
Nancy
Can you add the needed table to the BAQ? For example, Country linked to Customers? Then show both the ID and description?

I have created a ValueList and added what Items I need to appear in the list, then set the ValueList property for the specific column to the valuelist I created. This is all customization however.
