Updating

I have not done any updating or upgrading with Epicor before. However, I am wanting to try a little small update from 400.19 to 400.38. I am assuming that this should be a simple update with little issues, correct? Before I try the whole hog of 10.2, I want to start updating Epicor from the smallest piece and work my way up.

Sure thing, follow the manual and you should have no problem.

Well, I’m having another issue and Epicor said the issue was resolved and I need to upgrade to 10.1.600 at least.

Each sub version of 10.1.x adds new features and often fixes. The patch level (10.1.400.x) is in my opinion a no-brainer; just update. As always, try the update in a sandbox environment so you know of any issues and have a backup, but this should be fast and painless.

Going from 10.1.400 to 10.1.600 should be tested before rolling out. The new features and technology changes can affect day to day processes.
