Upgrade to 8.03.404A

Any place where people would select serial numbers and then assign them would
produce this error: Customer Shipment Entry and RMA Processing for example.

This weekend we upgraded from 8.03.305K to 8.03.404A and here are a few items
to note:

- There are some reboots, remember to shut down appServers and services that
may have restarted automagically.

- After you're update to OE101B, copy the proword.2 file from your OE100B
folder to the OE101B folder. You won't be able to start your database without
it.

- Rename any desktop shortcuts for the Progress Explorer Tool so you don't
accidentally start the OE100B version.

- If you use command files for your backups and restores, remember to point
the backup command to the 10.1 version of OpenEdge.

- We got some access denied messages for selected serial number processing.
Sure enough, there are new objects and there was no process security turned on
by default. So make sure to review process security if you get any message
like that.

- We recommend doing some intermediate backups - like after the schema change
and at the end of conversion.

- The 8.03.404A patch changed the format of the change log records. If you
have a lot records, it will take a bit of time to convert them. Ours took
longer than the .400 schema change.

- Our TEST803 database is just a copy of our production database, so we didn't
convert it. Make sure to truncate the BI file on the old test database or the
restore won't work.

If we come across anything else, we'll let you all know.

What does everyone do in order track credits due from suppliers. When
an item is returned to a supplier, how is inventory relieved and how is
credit taken? We are looking for a process which can utilize Vantage.
Any ideas?
