I am currently looking at upgrading from 10.2.500.40 to 11.2.100.26.
Here are my concerns. I have upgraded from 10.2.500.16 to 10.2.500.40 but cannot remember how to do one part. I have attached the screenshot that shows the dropdown where prompts you to choose the deployment version. How do I get that deployment version to show the 11.2.XX versions? Is it safe to install that 11.2.XX version on the same SQL server as our Prod instance for 10.2.500? I tested this on my Windows VM and it made me install the base 11.2.100.0 version first, then I ran the .exe for .26 and I was able to get the admin console to open. I just want to try and install this myself and test for proof of concept. Is there anything else that I am missing?
I have a feeling that I need to put this all on a separate SQL server because I need to backup Prod and restore that to the new version and run the upgrade and conversion workbench.
Why 11.2.100? that is an early release of Kinetic. There were many fixes in the 11.2.200 release… but also, in 11.2.300 (aka 2023.1) We have made some significant fixes in the UI including Grid copy/paste, Doc Attachments, etc, etc. Personally, if it were my company, i would choose to go ot the 2023.1 / 11.2.300 release.
Thank you for the reply Tim. I am being told that 11.2.100 is the latest version we can be on without having to convert ALL of our Crystal Reports to SSRS. We are also an international company where we all have to agree on the version that works for everyone. 11.2.100 is what we all agreed on, given that information I stated is true. If not, then I don’t see why going to 2023.1 is out of the question. I may have to read the release notes more closely in that version to see if that would be the right move.
I dont believe that there were any changes for Crystal support between 2022.1 and 2023.1. The only thing that is affected by Crystal is running Crystal from a cloud… but on prem should still be the same.
We have the goal of moving to a cloud based system. We are in the process of a SAN upgrade now, and getting more SQL servers spun up. I was just hoping that I would be able to get this all working with what we have at the moment.
That is honestly really good to hear. We have tons of Crystal Reports that need to be converted, but it is only me and I do not want to do that for the rest of the year. Thank you!
We are in the exact same boat. 1/2 thru converting all my Crystal to SSRS, didn’t want to try and wrap my head around finishing this by the go live date for 2023.
