Upgrading to 9.05?

It didn't. 8.03.409c is the latest.

I am a v8 consultant who will soon be working on a v9 installation.

A colleague is trying to get v9 running and is having several problems
with Service Connect and a third party EDI program. He told me that if
you are not using Service Connect that v9 is pretty stable and the tools
for developers have improved - BAQ designer in particular.

He also said the latest 8.03 release is very stable - 8.03.500 I think.

If you want my opinion, I would go to v8 and wait until 9 gets more
stable. Going from 6 to 8 is a huge challenge (I know from experience).
I would not want to go all the way to 9 from 6 - it's just more long
nights and weekends.

Has anyone else done this with any kind of success? Everytime I call
techsupport there's some hotfix or service pack I need to download. I
download them and install them using the online directions and still
can't get it to run. We were told that this would be a "simple" process
and I don't claim to be an expert but this is ridiculous. We have even
discussed looking at other ERP software...The cost to update hardware,
consultants, etc., etc. is going to be just short of $100K???

Lots of possible problems that could pop up.

What exactly has been the problem so far? Lots of possible problems and it's
tough to explain anything without any details about what exactly isn't
working.

Yes, I have gotten it working no problem on XP Pro, and I have always turned
off Simple File Sharing as soon as I do an installation of XP Pro, so I am
not sure if that would be an issue or not, in generally I think that simple
file sharing is just terrible so I don't think anyone should ever have it
running.

Hi Ned,

Are you are setting a test install of version 9 up on XP?
Maybe a dumb question but, is simple file sharing enabled?
I've wasted a few Vantage test install hours on XP because of this.

Plus, to add to this, you need to install 8 anyway while doing an upgrade to
9 since there is no direct upgrade path.
