Uplift Reports from E9 to E10 slow and errors out

Hi All,

I’m in the process of migrating uplifted reports from E9 to E10. When I install the solution it’s super slow, it takes an hour and 15 minutes to attempt to import ~100 custom crystal reports and hits an error(is it possible there is a timeout of some sort), then all subsequent reports fail with the same error. The first error I’m seeing is as follows. Any pointers / suggestions?

What happens if you remove the TS-CREDITCARDR_1001 from the Solution and try the import again? Does the error then occur on the next RDD: TS-CUSTRETRATE_1001? If that’s the case then maybe there is a timeout of some sort but if not then maybe there is just an issue with the TS-CREDITCARDR_1001 RDD? I don’t think I’ve ever tried an import for that many RDDs before.

Thanks for the suggestion. I broke up the reports into 2 different solutions and excluded the first report that failed and I was able to import the report successfully with no errors!

I tested out one of the reports and see the following error “The column OrderDtl.CustNum used by the ‘OrderToCustomer’ relationship is missing. Include the column or remove the relationship.”. As far as I know OrderDtl.Custnum is a standard table and field so I’m not quite sure I understand the error. Any ideas?

I think you need to go into the RDD for that report and uncheck the ExcludeColumn checkbox for the OrderDtl.CustNum field to include it in the RDD and for the Relationship to work.

I had a similar error copying reports between servers, what I found was I had a BAQ report that had an existing RDD for that report which caused it to fail due to having an “existing report id” Once I got rid of the RDD the BAQ report imported. I got exactly the same error as mentioned above when I tried to import as a solution.

My understanding is that the BAQ report designer associates the report id to a BAQ and report. But how do you “get rid” of the RDD? If I look in the Report Style Maintenance screen I see the “Data Definition” under the “Styles → Style Detail → Detail” tabs. I can right click and “Open with” the “Report Data Definition” (RDD) screen. Did you just clear out this field? Or did you actually delete the definition from the RDD screen?

If I try to simply clear this field, when I save I get an “Update error” dialog that says:

I deleted the Rdd. In my situation I was trying to install the report from a solution that had previously failed installing and left the RRd as an artifact, even though I had the overwrite options checked on the install solution dialogue.

Turns out I needed to include the BAQReport, simply adding the report itself was insufficient. (The Solution Manager apparently doesn’t know to add this automatically.)
