Mark,
I created an excel spreadsheet that has security groups across the top, and user info down the side. Where there was a match between a security group on top and a group assigned to a user, I hav an equation that returns a TRUE. Using conditional formatting, I turn the cell green. The issue with the spreadsheet is that it is unique to my setup, as you have to load your own groups into the table across the top. Once that is done, it gives you a nice visual of who belongs to what group. I added dummy users to my user file to define roles, as well as added user role in the character01 field, so I get a pretty clear picture of the user. Using Excel's sort and filter features, I can isolate who has access to any particular group. I also reorganized my groups along the lines of the menu, generally granting access by menu folder.
I'd be happy to send you or anyone else a copy offline (don't want to post it as it's not a universal report).
Regards,
Jim Pratt
