RE: Using a copy of a JOB to have an editable BOM
We have decided we want two copies of each Machine that we ship.
The BOM in the JobMTL file that is locked so it will always be "As
Shipped".
Another JOB that is a copy of the JOB after shipping, ( with
Engineer box not checked to avoid creating Demand) to be changed as the
Machine is Modified in the field ( they last 40-50 years). But only
create the copy if the machine does get modified - maybe 5-15% of the
time.
We decided against copying copying the JOB to a MOM(Engineering WB)
since our BOM's have several layers of "STANDARD" Sub-Assemblies so if I
change the lowest level component we would have to create New BOM's for
every sub-level above it.
Has anyone tried that, or have another way of having an editable BOM
but avoiding the "Standard" Sub-Assembly Part# trap.
