Using Vantage Webservices with VB6?

We are using Kewill Clippership for FedEx packages. Kewill uses VBA
and I've successfully tied in a webservice that talks with Vantage(we
purchased the wonderful Vantage SDK).

If I remember correctly, I had to install Microsoft Office 2003 Web
Service Toolkit.

Has anyone else tried to use the Vantage WebServices from VB6? I've
got an existing app that I am attempting to tie into, and I'm having
some issues getting authenticated, wondering if anyone else had done
this and had some tips.

I have with VB.Net and was told repeatedly to skip the web services and just
access the Business Object directly, which is what the web services are doing
- so why not just go directly to the source?

As for authentication, what code are you using? Have you installed the Web
Services Security add-in for VB?

All of the authentication for the web services seems to be done using
the Web Service Enhancements, which are a .NET tool that doesn't
appear to be able to be used in VB6.

So, I've been looking at grabbing a copy of VS.NET 2003 to call the
web services, but I'm intrigued by your post, Mark. How can we access
the business objects directly? Is there a doc somewhere on how to do
that?

Thanks
