V6.0 Symantec Autoprotect Exclusions

I exclude our mapped drive letters (or for most people just one "letter"). I have V mapped to Epic52 for Progress and M mapped to Epicor (where mfgsys61 is located). This avoids scanning the programs and the database. Most importantly the database. The exclusion is set on each PC in the client settings. Mostly I have to log in as Administrator to be able to change client settings.

Subject: [Vantage] V6.0 Symantec Autoprotect Exclusions

We are running Symantec Antivirus and Vantage 6.0. What file extensions
and files/folders are recommended exclusions to improve Vantage log-in
times and performance?

Your entire V:\ (or whatever) shared drive ~should~ be read-only for all
your regular users. If so, there is little or no chance of it getting
infected, so exclude the whole thing from scanning on your client machines.

If it is writable, you've got bigger problems to worry about than the
occasional virus -- like curious or malicious users trashing your whole
Vantage installation.
