V701 or any Version - Issues with Engineering Workbench Tree Exp

We have found the same thing on .701 the work around i have found is to use express part checkout for opening bill's. it has added a few clicks to get into the bill but it dose not hang up when you try to expand the tree

Epicor Tech support cant figure this out and it started when we first started to implement this software in v607. Now were is v701 and were a month from GoLive and the issue still exists.

Any tribal knowledge out there that can help us pin point down this issue?

We have BOM's that range from 1-10,000 lines and up to 20 levels deep.

As far as I know, expanding and collapsing the treeview has been slow in versions V8 thru E905.
Are you saying it only slowed down when you upgraded?

I work with slightly smaller BOMs than you describe.
10 levels deep with 2,000 to 3,000 items.
They will include a mix of subassemblies, raw materials and parts with methods.

I avoid using the "Expand Tree" and Collapse Tree" menu items when I have a part with a large BOM loaded.

I don't think this is specific to the engineering workbench, but with treeviews in general. I've heard of response issues in the customer treeview when there are lots of ShipTo's.

It is an issue in 701 and not just with large boms.
The performance can be alleviated with new, clean ECO group.
An SCR 84131 tried to address the speed in 701 but it looks like they have actually made it worse in some instances.

Also at 701 there is a bug with the Part business object.
If you have any PartBinInfo records in the system, all of them will be returned when you pull up just one part. This should be fixed in 702.
You can fix it with a BPM though if you need to.
