Prelude: January 3, 2003: Business as usual as we ship parts out the door
for heat treat on 3 parts that are manufactured components for other
manufactured finished goods. The parts are as follow:
Part X --> Primary Warehouse = "Purchased Components Warehouse"
and Primary Bin= "Servo"
Part XX --> Same
Part XXX --> Same
January 4, 2003: I upgraded the server and clients from 4.00.904 to
5.20.305. We start January 6th on 5.20.305 with few problems.
January 13th, 2003: Those 3 parts return from Subcontract. They are the
first to return from any Subcontract and they all have a problem during the
release to inventory. The parts are received form the vendor to the
inspection processing. The parts are inspected and brought back onto the
job. From the Job (OP 25 is Subcontract, OP 30 is release to inventory
which is final op and auto-receive op), the parts are released to
inventory. This is where the errors happen.
Part X: MFG -->VEN 272 pcs
VEN-->INS 272 pcs
INS--->SUB 272 pcs
MFG-->STK Does not occur. When the shipping person uses the Office
Data Collection to release the parts off the last operation, he gets the
error: "No WhseBin record available (91)" and the transaction never shows
up in history.
Part XX: Does the same as above but for 544 pcs
Part XXX: Does the same, but his time it goes into inventory, but into a
bin that DOES exist in the warehouse, but is not set up in the part master
as being available for THAT part. The 812 pcs for that part go to the MAIN
bin in Purchased Components Warehouse not the SERVO bin that is the primary
bin listed for that part.
Now, has anyone seen this error before? The whole scenario worked same as
usual just 3 days prior to Jan 3, 2003.
