Vantage 6.0 Job Screen

I would have to agree that it is a big improvement.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, I can only assume that
"change" in general is the problem. The GUI based Job Entry is much
better then the old one especially when you can now adjust the tabs, #
of panes, font size, etc... and save those settings for each user to
their specifications. In addition once you schedule a job you can see
what parts are having delivery prblems by the little red dot or which
parts have been issued by the little green checkmark. I think you guys
should spend some more time on this screen.

Is there an official request with doc number for having the option to
view 'old school style'? If enough people express an interest to have
it back the old way perhaps it will be considered as an option.

I know our facilities will 'attach' themselves to this document if it
exists.

I'm having the same problem on 5.2 with production control. They hate
the new tree design in job entry. Epicor's response was that after they
use the new interface for a few weeks they will never want to go back to
the old way. Good luck at getting any answers from Epicor.

Jeremy,
I'm still on 5.0 but tested 5.2 a little while back and I believe the
look
of Job Entry is carried over to 6.0. In 5.2 you had different view
options.
It should be the same in 6.0

We are currently on 5.1 and are reviewing Vantage 6.0. I just
finished
going through 6.0 with our Production Control Manager and he's
is
not happy
about some of the changes in 6.0. He doesn't like that he has
to
click on
different tabs to see Subassembly, Operation, Material and Job
header
information when it used to be on one screen. Can anyone
explain to
me what
advantage the new screen has over the old one to warrant such a
change?
What are the benefits? I am hoping to find some amazing reason
why
they
made this change. It looks flashy but doesn't flow as nicely as
the
old
screen.

Hey Group,

Since upgrading to Vantage 5.2 I have had an error, " promsgs unable to
open message file" pop up when users try and login to Vantage. It usually
happens in the morning when everyone is logging in. I don't know what
causes this error, but it goes away after a few minutes. I'm thinking a
certain user is locking a promsgs file and after they login or crash out the
error goes away.

Have any of you seen this error?
