Vantage 6.1: Data Import - New Implementation

Hi Richard

Thanks for the information. Nothing changes - send money!

Bowmill, that's spooky, how did you know?

Thanks and regards, Chris

My last visit to Vantage was at V4 - things have changed a little!

I was planning to export data from a legacy system to Excel, do some
work on it and import the clean data into a nice new implementation to
avoid keying.

I've just had a look at Vantage Utilities and notice that the Vantage
Master File Import/Export is no longer there.

I'm beginning to feel a chill wind. Is there perhaps, a better tool
now?

Regards, Chris
There is a new Data Conversion Tool which allows much greater capability for
data import than the old Master File routines.
It's not paricularly cheap and it takes a little getting to know but once
you've got to grips with it, it's very useful and can save loads and loads
of rekeying.
You can get the data into Excel and clean it up, import to an Access db and
then map from there to populate the Vantage db.

Bowmills?
