Vantage 6.1 or 8.0 ShadowCopy

I've had shadow copy turned on for about 2 years on the Vantage 6.1
server. Never had to use it (thank goodness), but I have recovered many
files on other servers and it works great. I agree with the other
e-mail that I don't think the database will be intact but my backup file
is included with the shadow copy so I should be able to do a restore it
if needed.

Volume shadow copy would work but there is no VSS writer for
Progress/Vantage I don't believe, hence the database will not aware that
a volume shadow copy is taking place. So the data could be in an
inconsistent state



On SQL server is VSS aware.



I would not use this as a primary backup and the schedule of shadow copy
need to be taken into account.
