Vantage 6.1 | Progress 9.1 to excel

After migrating to E10, we will be soon shutting down Vantage 6.1 for good and reusing the server for something else. For archival and backup purposes, we want to export each table to an excel file. What is the least tedious way to do this?
Thanks!

I would use MS Access and through ODBC Import the tables. then, only when you really need it in excel, export one at a time.

Great, thanks!

You shouldn’t need to export each and every table. There are hundreds of tables. I would recommend identifying your master tables (parts, customers, AP History, AR history, etc and then either import them into MS Access or into Excel. In my opinion, importing each and every table is unnecessary to preserve your legacy data.

I would recommend that you use SSIS or do an export and an import into your SQL Server for your Legacy data. You can transform or simplify the structure or just grab the critical tables such as Order / Job and the cool thing with that is that you can then use External BAQs in 10 to present the data if you need.
Makes your archival data be accessible even in E10.
And no you do not need to do with all the files but anyone going to E10 and wants archival data for older versions should look at moving to a db on their E10 SQL server…
