Vantage 6.1 - Sort Order

Wondering if anybody knows how to change the sort
order when viewing invoices or orders via
Order/Invoice Tracker in Vantage 6.1? The gal in our
accts receivable dept thinks that they used to sort
oldest to newest (or vice versa), and now sorts the
opposite, which makes me wonder if there isn't a sort
order option somewhere that got changed over time.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

When I came into work this morning all my servers and PC's had correctly
adjusted for daylight savings time (they were patched last couple of
weeks).
But the Data Collection - Vantage is showing the time 1 hour behind. So
check your time in Vantage.
If any one has any ideas how to get the time sychn. I would love to hear
it. Support is working on it.

Has the session been shut down and restarted since the time change?

Hi Nancy,

Similar situation here; time adjusted properly however Data Collection
time displayed was an hour off. In the past before we had NTP time
sysnc, minor adjustments due to time drift corrected in Vantage simply
by adjusting the server time.

This Sunday morning I noticed the DC time was still off. Active
Directory time was correct, NTP time servers were correct, Vantage
server time was correct... I stopped the database using the Progress
Explorer Tool and restarted -- it still displayed the wrong time in DC.
Rebooted the server and Data Collection time was back in synch. Now it's
dealing with the labor edits.

I think I might go back to the old fashioned way....manually set the time and turn off the check box for "automatically adjust for daylight savings". Never had a problem with the AS/400 and DCD-Classic....as long as I came in and set the time over the weekend.

Another bit of info. I distributed the TZEdit program that was posted here to all our Win2K users and had everyone run it and adjust their daylight effective times. But they did not seem to take effect. Interestingly if you go to mannualy change the time but first turn off automatic adjustment, apply that, turn it back on and apply that the time is then changed by one hour. So I suspect something in the TZedit routine did not force a registry setting to make the changes effective for yesterday.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
We are on Vantage 6.1 and did not have any problems with the change. I
applied the DST patches on March 1 and restarted our Vantage server and
data collection stations last Thursday (March 8). Everything adjusted
fine yesterday - didn't have to touch anything.

Perhaps the restart was the solution. Many services that use DST only
read the value from the operating system when they are started (they
never check it again even if a patch has been applied).

One disclaimer: Our Vantage server runs Linux and our data collection
PC's run Windows XP. I would think that the server OS would be
irrelevant, but you never know...

We used the TZEdit program that was posted to this list. It worked fine
for all of our W2K workstations and servers (we patched about 17
workstations and 3 servers). All of them adjusted properly on their own
- none of them were running Vantage server or Data Collection, though
all of the workstations are Vantage clients. Again, all of them were
restarted after the patch and prior to DST.

We are using 6.1 and did not have any problems.

Server is 2003.

All DC's and computers show the correct time.

Our Outlook calendar appointments are off, but I decided to just leave
them alone. The fixes cause about as many problems as the cure.

DC pc's are a mix of 2000 Pro and XP Pro.

I also used the TZEdit program for my 2000 boxes.

Microsoft mentioned that if you did not go in and select another time
zone, apply it, then reapply the correct time zone after setting your
DST dates, the tzedits would not take effect. I imagine that is why it
did not work. I also changed the DST dates for all 4 timezones, Eastern,
Central, Mountain and Pacific.

But it just keeps getting weirder. I use the TZEDIT program and the

Some PC's rolled the time right some didn't and they can be identical
PC's (bought at same time).
I have at least one PC showing the Vantage time correctly and the
majority showing it an hour off.
Kind of craze.

Try changing the time zone lets say from central to eastern and back

Has the session been shut down and restarted since the time change?

Hello,

I created a customization for the receipt entry screen to stop all
receipts if the PO Line has a zero unit cost and if the PO is on HOLD.

Works great but I have a slight bug.

I set a module boolean variable to TRUE to cancel the UPDATE method if
the above criteria are met.

When the user deletes the RcvHead record, as instructed, before going to
alert someone in purchasing, this boolean variable is set to FALSE
during the DELETE method.

I didn't code any other method to reset this boolean because I figure
that if the user closed the receipt window, the variable would be
destroyed however it seems to persist.

I made sure memory cache was turned off.

Any ideas why the module variables for this form are not destroyed when
the window is closed? Is this by design?

If I restart Vantage, everything is ok.

Another note for those driving their shop bells from the Vantage server. Our Win2K Vantage server, and thus all the Data Collection PC times in Vantage, were off by an hour. Rather than labor editing everyone on 1st shift I will let the Vantage server stay an hour off until shift change at 3:00-3:15pm. But for the shop bells I have manually adjusted the scheduler by an hour so they sound at the right times and will set them back when I adjust the Vantage server time. Just another thing to consider.
