Vantage 6.1 Update DBF in Sales Acknowledgement Form

Hello All,

I'm trying to redesign our Sales Acknowledgement form (in Crystal) so that the Sale Cat ID field is visible. When reviewing available fields, the current orderdtl DBF does not have the Sale Cat ID available to add although the Live orderdtl table does have that field. Where should I go to edit the DBF output for orderdtl?

My understanding is that when printing, Vantage outputs the DBF files in to a temp directory, then prints via Crystal to get the form to your printer. Current report style is set to Crystal and current SO Acknowledgement form name.

Thanks,

We are in Vantage 6.1. We have a part that is being discontinued and we would like to prevent any buyers from purchasing that part anymore.

However, we need to deplete our current stock so we would still need to keep it active in our system.

Is there a way to prevent buyers from creating PO's but still allow us to consume the part?

Thanks,
Jasper

How are you going to get it out of stock if you are no longer taking orders
against it?

Issue the parts to what ever job/ orders you have, adjust out the remainder
and then mark it inactive.

This is a purchased part. We don't want to buy it anymore but we still have existing orders in the system for the finished good.

We want to prevent the buyers from purchasing any more castings. We can't issue the parts to jobs because the demand still goes out until the end of the year. We don't have all the jobs created for that. Also, we are still taking orders until we deplete our stock levels so we need to keep the part active.

The only way I have found to prevent purchasing a part is to make the

order to do that. I do not believe there is any other way.

Jasper,

I see, I had selected the wrong purchasing location for the vendor and
it would not let me continue. I think this will work. Create a new
internal vendor (Your company name-Discontinued) add purchasing point
and uncheck the approved box in the vendor maintenance field. Go into
part maintenance for the part select the "Inv/Purch" tab, for vendor ID
put in your newly created internal vendor. This will prevent any orders
from being written for this part.

It will allow you to create the PO, add the line but will delete all
that you have done when you click the "OK" button.

keep
it active in our system.

Is there a way to prevent buyers from creating PO's but still allow us
to
consume the part?

Thanks,
Jasper

How about a BAM to check the status of a part during purchasing?

Chris,

I read that it will prevent buyers from buying but I tested it and it still
let me buy. It did give me a warning stating that this part is being phased
out but after I clicked 'OK', it let me proceed to making the PO.

Is there something else I need to do to prevent buyers from buying?

Thanks,
Jasper

Jasper,

Use the "Run Out" box in Part File Maintenance and this should do what
you are looking for.

This is a purchased part. We don't want to buy it anymore but we still
have existing orders in the system for the finished good.

We want to prevent the buyers from purchasing any more castings. We
can't issue the parts to jobs because the demand still goes out until
the end of the year. We don't have all the jobs created for that. Also,
we are still taking orders until we deplete our stock levels so we need
to keep the part active.

How are you going to get it out of stock if you are no longer taking
orders
against it?

Issue the parts to what ever job/ orders you have, adjust out the
remainder
and then mark it inactive.

Will that prevent the buyer from purchasing?
