Vantage 6.10.541 - Menu Structure Maintenance

if the Vantage server name was changed you will need to unregister
("unregocx")
the OCX files on each client.
Sometimes you can get away with running this utility (found in your
vantage directory).
you run it from a DOS prompt....(ie: v:\mfgsys61>unregocx c (no
quotes) unregocx v
(assuming your client is mapped to the letter "v".
I have had cases where I needed to remove the entries from each client
registry.
I searched for the old vantage server name and deleted those entries.
(be careful if you need to do this).
best luck.

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage 6.10.541 - Menu Structure Maintenance

Over the weekend our management upgraded to 541 and changed our Vantage
Server.

Since then, then trying to access the Menu Structure Maintenance we get
the following error message:

"Specified ActiveX control is not registered or the .0cx file was moved
from where it was registered.
Error occurred in procedure control_load su/sum20.w (6087)"

Does anyone have any information they can provide on how to correct
this error?

Sincerely,
Judy Havlik

I have the same problem. It's only on one of the two PC's set up for
security maintenance. I have not had a chance to chase it down yet but I
would also be interested in the fix.

I have a batch routine called ForceReg.bat that registers a bunch of OCX files. I don't recall the circumstances but when things get strange I have often used it. But the one I have in my MFGSYS61 folder must be old because it references mfgsys60 locaitons. I think I may have gotten it from support originally. Perhaps there is a 6.1 version on the FTP site.

Another thing to try would be on one workstation, where you are trying to edit menu from, re-install the client (skipping the Progress part)....if no go then unintall Progress on the workstation and re-install both client and progress. This should do the same as a ForceReg.
