Vantage 8.0.811B: Data Collection/HR Software

Just curious...we have 500-600 production employees who charge time
on average of 5 different jobs a day.

I am wondering how other companies are handling data collection (clock
in/clock out) and the tracking of other information such as Sick Days,
Vacation, Points, Personal Information, etcÂ…Do you use vantage to track
this information or do you rely on a different package such as Kronos?
This is on 6.1 but details would be pretty much version agnostic.
We use shop floor data collection on plain old (very old) PCs.
We collect vacation via Labor Edit and special type code ("VAC")
We also tally vacation via ADP's HR system and manage self-service requests on-line via web or HR Kiosks in plant
--Supervisors get email notice and login to approve requests
--Kiosks avaialble only before/after work or on breaks and lunch
Vacation balances are maintained by ADP and printed on checks - although there is a one week delay after usage
We tally points manually and feed to ADP where they put remaining total on check (countdown system)
Employees manage all their own personal info via web/kiosks.
Payroll info is extracted from Vantage (including vacation and holiday info and OT/DT calcs) and imported into ADP weekly.

The ADP web based payroll and HR are pretty good but this is after about 3 months of startup issues and ADP developing the system on the fly. It is finally working pretty well and saving considerable time in HR and Accounting. Employees can get a report of their time off, points, personal info whenb they want without bugging our one HR person. On the other hand ADP will probably jack their rates next year and we will switch to another system again..would be 4th time in 10 years.

Just spoke to HR Mgr. soon we will put tab on ADP screens to link to 401(k) web site and allow 100% self service on that too - or just show them propaganda to try to get more people signed up if they are not already.
