Vantage 8.0 Hung Sessions

You're right -- it keeps on trucking at 25%. Hopefully, the SCR addresses
the problem on the client side, as well as the server's. Still running a PO
Tracker, selecting all PO's, after 10 minutes, with the client unconnected.

We can't live with this... a client can't peg the server in such a way.

All,

I'm a little concerned about Hung Sessions in Vantage 8.0, It seems easy to
be in one of the busier trackers like customer tracker or part tracker, or
one of the Status Dashboards like Job Status or Sales Order Status and be on
the "Advanced Search Tab" with no selections entered and hit the "Refresh"
or "Refresh All" button and have the screen display in the bottom status row
of the window "Retrieving Data.......". My server will show the CPU go
from basically zero to 25% and stay there.

OK. How do you kill the session.
In vantage 6.1 you could use PROMON but now you are not seen in PROMON
because your client session is going thru the AppServer not progress.
I can sort the processes running on the server and kill the one at 25% but
what is this going to be like with 60 or 70 users?
Also guessing which process to kill and ending it sometimes hangs the system
further logins and has on one occasion crashed the database.

What are companies seeing that are live on 8.0? Is this a concern?

We've submitted: Can't interrupt long search, like PO search. Only way is to
close search, which closes Vantage. 876782PSC 13325MPS SCR19625.

Until the SCR is fixed, close it with Windows Task Manager on the client.

If I kill the client session, how long before the server see's it
disconnected. I will test this route next time but I think the server will
keep working at 25% utilization.
