Vantage 8.0 ODBC connection

If you plan on using ODBC for crystal reports, there are instructions in
this groups file directory for creating an ODBC connection string that
will eliminate the need to enter a DSN password when retrieving data.

I've just had the response back from Epicor. The installer is there
already on the server (no need for other kit). You just have to run
it on the client and enter a few settings and it works! Job's a good

Hi all,

I'm having my Vantage admin course in a few weeks time but I'd like to
know how to set up the ODBC connection on the server, then on the
client.

I use a Merant driver on clients at the moment with our Vantage 4.0 DB
and that required me to specify some parameters, then start the ODBC
broker on the server. I just need to know how to do the same thing on
Vantage 8.

Cheers,

Jonny
Vantage has a really nice ODBC kit. Call and ask for it. Good instructions and some files you will need. Much easier, faster and more reliable then how your doing it now.

Does that mean it's not included in the standard installation media?
