We use a program called SnagIt and it works great
There is still another screen that pops up to
print from, but there is no pasting - it occurs
with a set of hotkeys you can assign.

Be careful with those whom God has placed in your path. They may be
there for your benefit, or theirs.

In Vantage 6.1 there was an option to print screen (F6) which was very
convenient. I can't seem to do that in 8.0. Does anyone know of a way
to print screen from 8.0 without pasting into a word document?

gOOGLE FOR "PRINTKEY 2000" It's a nice little free-ware utility that
will do what you want. Later versions of the same are called "printkey
pro" and offered as shareware that you have to pay a few bucks for. But
you can still find may downloads of the old free one.

We have had very good results with a freeware called Gadwin
PrintScreen, www.gadwin.com/printscreen/. It has a lot of options
including setting a hotkey (F6) and specifying whether you want an
output screen or just send straight to the printer you specify. You
can also use it to send to clipboard or to file. We personalized the
the Receipt Entry Screen to have both the line details and the
purchase line comments visible and use Gadwin to capture the screen
shot as a move ticket for product going to inspection as an example.

Does anyone know how the XML for customizations which is stored in
chunks within the XXXChunk table is encoded?

I know the XML is chunked into smaller sections - but I am not sure what
encoding algorithm is, I wish to read in the XML chunks (which I have
done with the BO's) modify them and write them back. But I cannot seem
to determine the encoding, its doesn't seem to be Base64

John,

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/vantage/files/PC-Utilities/

If you go to this folder, I just uploaded "PrintKey" utility.

It's been floating around the group for years.

Install, take all defaults. When done simply press the Print Key button on
the keyboard and what you see is what gets printed.

You also have the option to cut and paste the image into any other program.

One feature that is very nice is the "Rectangle" button. Click Print key,
then when the program pops up - click on rectangle. The program will drop
away showing you your existing screen. Click the top left of a rectangle,
hold and drag to bottom right. When you let go Printkey will pop back up
and just that piece of the screen image will be up. You can then cut and
paste or print.

Great for documentation if you use this with Word and the Rectangle/copy
option.

--------------------

I also just added Wayne's "Diskdata" utility and ISFWL.exe which I've used
for years to purge IE data from machines.

If anyone else has "SMALL" utilities that you like please forward them to me
and I'll add them to the section. I'm requesting small because we only have
20 meg of space available.

Thanks,

Todd Anderson

Thank you! I've been looking for a way to do this. And yes... it
does work.
