Additional notes... problem seems to be related to jobs that have
attachments.

While I was able to get Vantage to consistently crash for a "domain
user" and run fine for a "domain admin" opening certain jobs (with
attachments) in TRAIN803, I now can get a previously good job record
to crash just by adding an attachment to the job. Ran fine before
adding the attachment.

But, it is now also crashing for my login (with domain admin
permissions) when opening the job I just added the attachment to.

This has muddied the picture and I am loosing confidence in V8...

Anyone cross this bridge...

Vantage 8.03.305i, Win 2003 Enterprise, Progress, 8GB - plan to go
live first of year.

While testing in the TRAIN803 database, users are having Vantage
vanish (crash) before their eyes when opening certain jobs - not all,
but consistent on some jobs (000146-1-1 for one and others). This
behavior only rears it's ugly head for my "domain users", not "domain
admins".

To reduce the variables, I am logging onto our Vantage server as a
"domain user", running V8 (manager/manager) and accessing the jobs in
question - V8 vanishes without a trace in the Windows event logs,
appserver logs, etc.. I then change this particular domain user's
permissions to domain admin and duplicate the process - no problem, no
crash.

I have checked the security settings on the EPICOR share, MFGSYSDATA,
and CLIENT folder - EVERYONE has FULL control.

This strongly points to a Windows permission or registry issue but so
far myself or Epicor technical support cannot find the root of this
problem.

Any ideas???
