Vantage 8.03.403D Payroll Employee Issue

Ok, got it. See Scott's email too. He's correct, the table is PREmpMas.
I wish I could help further. If the error still generates when the field
is populated...that's something different from my experience. I did get
this error when we wrote employee records into the database tables
because the db fields are set to accept Zero-Length but not Nulls. The
V8 GUI writes Zero-Length when you delete field data. Good luck. :o(

Ian,

Thanks for responding but we get the same message even when we have a
bmp included. Also, we've looked in the data dictionary and there is
no field in the Payroll Employee Master File called ImageFile.

Hey Wendy, this error is referencing a field in Employee Maintenance. Go
to Payroll - Setup - Employee then on the dialog look on the upper
right. Under the employee photo square you will see a field that says
file:. This is where you tell the program which .bmp file to use as the
employee's photo. It is required. The numbering scheme recommended is to
number the .bmp the same as the employee number, however there doesn't
actually have to be a .bmp in the server directory in order for it to
post changes and save. For example: if you have employee #613, ideally
in the server directory
(\\yourservername\mfgsysdata\empphoto\yourcompanyname\
<file://\\yourservername\mfgsysdata\empphoto\yourcompanyname\> ) you
would have a .bmp file named 613.bmp and this would display when you
brought that employee's record up in the Employee Maintenance dialog.
The field on Employee Miantenance is required, but the file is not, so
you can enter in 613 in the field on the dialog and the record should
save even if there is no 613.bmp in the above directory. If this causes
you grief, then try and put a dummy .bmp in this directory and name it
none.bmp (it could be a paint doc that says "No Photo Available" or
something), then try and enter "none" in the dialog field and save.

Hope this helps. ;o)

There is a field in PREmpMas called PhotoFile, I believe this is what the
error message is referring to.

We recently setup Payroll Employees (8.803.305k) and use no Photo for
employees and had no issue. Make sure the text box next to File under the
Employee image is blank and does not contain spaces for any reason.
