Vantage 8.03 Accessory Kits

Chris, this does not really answer your questions about configurations, but if you have 1 or 2 basic accessory kits, you could make them their own assembly and in the MOM, deselect PULL AS ASSEMBLY.
Then, when a kit is selected during the demand creation, it will look to pull it off of the shelf as as pre-built unit. If there is not enough supply, it would then schedule it as its own job (maybe have mrp planning for that item set to "assemble" 5 so if someone has to stop to assemble one, it orders the assembly of 5. This is how I had to do some things prior to sales kitting in 8.03.

As far as configuring..if you have the configurator, I would reference external lookup, like excel spreadsheet, where ship to country = or <> and have different part numbers or revs for the different versions, so the xls file would have records like USA | 1, Germany | 2 and that way each consideration for a different country would not have to be coded into customization or BPM, but just maintained in a simple excel file.

How do you handle accessory kit items like power cords and manuals? On the BOM? Use shipping address for 110 or 220? Choose on Quote/Order? These items get lost in manufacturing if on Job Pick List. But they're necessary to ship so would be nice on Order Pick List. BOM mid-pull? Sales doesn't want to be bothered with them. Please enlighten us if you've dealt with these items successfully in Vantage. Thanks.[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
