Vantage 8.03 BPM

Sure no problem. Also with your mapping to jobs, that is something
we are doing too. I am working on a way to push them during the
orderJobWizard, but as of now when a user checks the Released
checkbox on a job it copies all the VB fields from the OrderHed &
OrderDtl to the JobHead.

Hello Group,

We have customized quote entry to use some of the extra fields such as
Character01. What I need to do is to move these fields to Order Entry
when the order is created from the quote.

It is my understanding that this can be accomplished by BPM, but I
can't figure it out. Would someone point me in the right direction,
please.

Linda
I don't know how BPM would do this but it will work if you go to the
report data definition for the report.

Find the report you want to modify in the report data definition. When
the tables show up, click on one of the tables (you may have to
highlight one, highlight another one, then go back to the original, at
least in 8.0 you have to do this). Then click on the excluded fields
tab. In here move all fields you need over the the left hand side.

At this point you can create a new style for the report...that way you
can leave the original intact. Make sure you make the new style the
default.

Print preview the report.

Open up Crystal and modify in here by adding the fields needed. You
have to set the database location and verify the report before adding
the fields.

If you need more help you can call me if you want.

Mike,

Can you add fields to a report through BPM whether you push or pull
quotes?

If it is for reporting only you do not need BPM just link the order
to the quote.
If you want to map the field you will have to use either BPM or the
script editor. Currently we map our fields through script, but I am
looking at doing it all through BPM once I learn to use it. It
looks like you can map the field PostProcess from the
GetOrderFromQuote Method, I just need to find the time to work with
it.

Hi Group,

It is not just for reports. I want to copy the quote header and detail
fields to the order header and details and some fields also to the job
table. This way I can display the information on the screen in order
entry and job entry and the data can be updated as things change. Oh,
and we sometimes push and sometimes pull so I will have to make it work
both ways.

If the field mapping can't be done with BPM would you be willing to
