Vantage 8.03.xx Processing Speed

I'm thinking of changing to SSD's as well.

What did you install onto the SSD's, appservers or DB?

Thanks

Richard

We have recently setup Vantage 8.03 and are beginning the discovery phase using data from our live V6.0 db. Our V6.0 users are all telling me that the processing speed is extremely slow.

Have others seen this behavior and what if anything have you done to improve the situation?

I'm concerned that the hardware sizing for our (currently 4.8Gb database) may be inadequate. We have not purchased server yet but are interested in whatever hardware choices would help process speed.

We intend to install on Windows Server 2008 64 bit and we use Progress.

Thanks in advance

Your configuration of the Progress application services and database
service is critical.

Also - raid 10 with many spindles. I'd say a minimum of 8.

You should also search the archives of this list. There have been many
discussions of this issue in the past.

Unfortunately, you are not alone. This is very common challenge.

Where did you add the solid state drives the clients or the servers to see the speed increase?

Thanks
