Vantage 8.801

John,
This was a matter of simply checking the icon properties and looking at
the connection string (target line).
I noticed that the -H parameter was blank. I would have thought that
these string would be supplied
By the install, but that was not the case. I just supplied the host
name of the server, and that solved
The problem.
Thx,

Dick-

Would you mind sharing the resolution. It would be helpful in the event
that others run into the same or similar problem. Even if it's one of
those "Doh!" types of solutions, we might all benefit (even if it's
simply a negative affirmation, like "That doesn't apply to me", etc...)

Thanks in advance,

Dear Vantage pioneers,
I have installed Vantage 8 on a test server (8.801)
I ran through schema changes on both the production and training db.
When I try to bring up the adminTools (both training and production), I
receive a
"you have not supplied a parameter for argument -H (1403)"
In the progress explorer, the AppServer "asbroker1" -
ControllingNameServer is NS1 (default)
and the registration mode is Use Broker LocalHost
I have the ControllingNameServer set to Use Broker LocalHost for
mfgsys80, mfgtrain80, and mfgtest80.
I have not touched the web server adapter
The NameServer is started and all of the db's are started.
Can anyone point me to the place where the host argument needs to be
set? It seems there is no
startup.pf file anymore. I also checked the "hosts" file on the server
and only the localhost is in there.
BTW. I am trying to run this client from the server.
Any help is very much appreciated.
