I was curious myself as were about to go to 408b, one of the supposed
reasons was that they fixed autoprinting for packslips...

Blake, you're only seeing this with Pack Slips (not Travelers, Pick
Lists, etc)? Have you tried simulating this at a different workstation
on a different part of the network? Or have you tried printing any
other form from this PC (Job Traveler)? Does it exhibit the same
sluggishness?

Does the standard out-of-the-box (unmodified) Pack Slip form print slow,
too?

Are any other users experiencing similar printing problems?

We have to main users that will print the pack slips needed to load our
trucks. They will create new pack slips and print them one at a time
usually around 10-20 in a row. After they submit the first pack slip to
print it will take another 20-40 minutes before they start printing
out... sometimes they will do this in the morning and the pack slips
won't print out until sometime after 4 pm. Sometimes the pack slips
print out shortly after submitting them and sometimes they don't print
out at all.

Basically just Pack Slips, standard form too. Pick Lists will sometimes
take a while to print (close to 60 minutes) but mostly will always
print. I've replicated this behavior or different PCs.

Hmm.... OK.

The times that the Pack Slips print out acceptably fast, can you reprint
those exact Packs again with the same speed?

I'm wondering if there is something wrong with your ShipHead and/or
ShipDtl tables......?

Not sure. I would definitely involve Support ASAP if you haven't
already. It certainly seems weird that it's only related to printing
Packs.

Do you mean can I reprint the pack slips that printed out quickly with
the same speed when other pack slips won't print? If so, then no. No
pack slips will print at those times.



I've already contacted support. They have our database and printed out
15 consecutive pack slips so they say that they can't recreate the issue
in their environment with our database. Talk about not wanting to
research the issue. Sometimes we can rattle off 50 pack slips in a row
without issue then all of the sudden... wham! It stops working.

Blake, you're only seeing this with Pack Slips (not Travelers, Pick
Lists, etc)? Have you tried simulating this at a different workstation
on a different part of the network? Or have you tried printing any
other form from this PC (Job Traveler)? Does it exhibit the same
sluggishness?

Does the standard out-of-the-box (unmodified) Pack Slip form print slow,
too?

Are any other users experiencing similar printing problems?

We have to main users that will print the pack slips needed to load our
trucks. They will create new pack slips and print them one at a time
usually around 10-20 in a row. After they submit the first pack slip to
print it will take another 20-40 minutes before they start printing
out... sometimes they will do this in the morning and the pack slips
won't print out until sometime after 4 pm. Sometimes the pack slips
print out shortly after submitting them and sometimes they don't print
out at all.

Could they be inadvertantly changing the print schedule from: Now to a delayed task schedule before the hit submit?
