Vantage 8x: Traceability

I have just been told that the reason why most users don't have traceability is that the user must have 'Security Manager' and/or 'Customize Privileges' to be able to trace an action.

I want to be able to walk over to some ones computer, that is have a problem, and ask them to trace their actions. I don't want everyone to have either of those security rights though.

so my question to all of you smart people is this: Is there a work-around for this, possibly through Service Connect or a BPM?
