Vantage and Citrix Error

That error I have only encountered when you are in the process of updating
the client through an auto-update after you have run a service pack or
patch, and it usually means that there is still a user session open on the
server that has an file locked that the auto-update is trying to replace.

I have found that as a best practice in a citrix or terminal server
environment, it is best to setup all the icons and programs for vantage and
epicor to use the -skip switch as part of the target, this will prevent the
auto-update functionality from being done every time, so on top of slightly
speeding up the load time since it won't check the version, it also allows
you to manually update the client without running into any errors like this
for an end user. Worst case is that an end user gets an error saying there
is a client/server version mismatch.

Also a heads up for anyone thinking of applying 700C, the auto-update
functionality is hosed in that release and incredibly annoying to fix,
outside of just copying the client folder to the local computer, which
defeats the purpose of auto-updating.

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage and Citrix Error

Has anyone run into the following error with using Vantage with Citrix
XenApp 6? If so, how did you resolve it?

The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
process
