Vantage - BAQ for Stock Per Bin

Hi,

I am trying to write a BAQ (with the hope of creating a Dashboard).

On our final operation of a job, the goods are added to inventory and all goods go to a Bin called Trolley.

Our storemen can either pick for the order from the trolley or do an inventory transfer from the trolley to the shelf.

As soon as the goods are in the trolley bin, they are seen as being 'in stock'.

Each part may have upto 3-4 bins, but the Primary Bin for every part is Trolley.

I am trying to create a BAQ for our storemen so when an item is shown as out of stock in all bins (except 'Trolley'), the BAQ will update as soon as the parts hit the Trolley Bin (ie are available for picking/packing).

Ideally, I want to take the Sales allocated qty for each part and firstly see if they are available from Bin 2, Bin3 or Bin4 (ie not the primary bin).

If they are available from any other bin except the Primary Bin, then the Dashboard will not need to display anything if the goods are also added to the Trolley bin, as there are already enough in stock in other bins.

The only time that they should appear on the dashboard is if there isn't enough stock to fulfil the order in Bin 2, 3 and 4 (ie not the Primary Bin).

Therefore as soon as the goods become available in the Trolley Bin (Primary) the dashboard will update to show the storeman that the goods are now available for picking (from the Trolley bin).

It's easy to explain in my head - but difficult to put down in an email.

Does anybody hav any suggestions?

Im guessing I will need some calculations to determine if the goods are available from the other bins first - but I dont know where to start.

Cheers,

CHRIS
