Also....how much good would source code be now that it will all change with Sonoma. The presentation layer and hooks to other applications should be pretty customizable and only the business logic layer will be locked up. With Visual Studio.net it ought to be a lot more customizable. The code (if you could buy it now) would be obsolete fairly soon (couple years). I think I would want to wait and at least investigate at Perspectives what programming capabilities may open up in the future. On the flip side same is true for buying Custom Programming - it would have to be a pretty urgent need with a short payback timeframe.

4-9 years ago you could purchase the source code for Vantage at a fairly
reasonable price IF you bought the source code as part of your original
purchase.

The last 3-4 years I've heard that EPICOR has been very resistant to selling
source code. Especially after the initial purchase. They would much prefer
to sell you custom programming or suggest VB fields instead.

So, ask your salesperson if EPICOR will sell you source code and at what
price. Who knows, you might get lucky.
