You can also have custom programming (or your internal programmer) set up
the print function to write the dbf files for the addtional table(s). This
will allow you to have access to any field in the table. Downside--it
costs about $2000. I don't know why Epicor doesn't have all the fields for
a table available for the crystal forms. We have had the custom
programming done and it does NOT affect performance of the report printing
(as they claim it does). I don't think they want to put the time into
rewriting all their crystal reports so they can have all the fields for the
table available. It would be very beneficial for us users though.
I wouldn't recommend the ODBC approach, unless you like users seeing all
the information in your database.

Yes, you can do it. However, you would have to use ODBC, which requires
each workstation that runs the report to have ODBC installed on it. I have
heard that with Vantage 4.0 and 5.0, ODBC comes included, so it wouldn't be
an additional cost. The downside, is that a knowledgeable user who knows
Access well, could read and WRITE to the database.
You would also need to have Crystal Reports (7 or 8 or 8.5) "Professional"
version to connect to ODBC.

Is it possible to add a table to an existing "canned"
Vantage Crystal Report? Thanks for any help. -Kevon Huntley
