Vantage goes poof!

Paul,
We are still with V3.00.631 and I also have this occur very randomly. It can
happen when someone has been working in one of the modules or even when you
try to open a module. I know if someone has been working in a module, then
you need to use promon to disconnect them. If however they are just trying
to open a module and get "kicked off", they do not show up as being logged
in via promon. It can happen 2 times a month or once every 6 months.
Mike

Hello all,

I have a new problem developing here; every now and then a random user is
working in Vantage (V.4.00.904), and all of a sudden it just disappears. No
error messages are given, event viewers are perfectly clean. I can't figure
out what the commonality is in the problem, nor am I able to duplicate it.
Users have plenty of RAM and drive space available, network connections
remain intact. Nothing else on the user's system is affected, or indicates
OS problems. The server is not overworked, and neither is the network. The
only thing left is the "old" connection showing the user in ProMon, which I
manually have to kick off. We have plenty of seats available as well.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks for any input....

Paul Siebers

I am wondering if it is a file locking problem.

When someone goes into a program where someone else is already using the
record. We usually get a message saying that the file is in use, do you
want to wait? If you pick no, your session of Vantage just disappears.

I have seen that too, it is kind of like it, except for the fact that there
is no warning message...
