Yes, there are a few Vantage Customers who are running in a cluster.
Last I knew, there is one in Portland, OR, two in New Jersey, and one in North
Dakota who are running Vantage in a cluster.
A couple of hints/suggestions/notes for you.
1- Open Edge needs to be installed separately on the local drive in each node of
the cluster
2- Put the vantage installation on the shared drive
3- Make sure you put the shared drive with the Vantage installation as a
dependency of the OE service on each node.
4- Make sure all file paths in the vantage installation use the cluster name,
not the server names
5- You cannot do a quick switch back and forth between nodes, there will be
orphaned processes that will prevent a re-startup of vantage until they can all
be killed off, they will die naturally but they take time to die off from not
being connected.
It can be kind of a pain in the ass to be honest, while it's cool and great, I
honestly don't think most companies running Vantage really need a clustered
setup, it can honestly be a real pain in the ass and take a really really long
time to get up and running the way it should be.
Depending on why you want to use a cluster, there is likely a cheaper, and much
simpler way of accomplishing the same thing.

Thanks, I think that will come in handy as I'm doing this. I haven't bothered to
learn much about OpenEdge but guess now is the time.
I'll report back if I get it working.
Cheers,
-Ramsey
