Thanks for your suggestions (I'm not an IS person and was in a panic).

We found out that the problem was the command line in schema
change.vtg-"Connect Option" got erased or corrupt. Once we entered the
correct line everything ran fine.

It sounds as if your schema change program wants the data base in Single User mode. You have two choices.

1. Stop the db engines and then run the schema change.

2. Right click the change.vtg program, and look at the properties. In the command line, find the -1 (that's a minus one) parameter, and remove it. the run your schema change.

Since schema changes can only be made when no-one else is using the DB, the first choice is probably your best option.

Gail,

Were are you attempting to run the schema changes, from an administrative
workstation or some other workstation. I had encountered something similar
with basically the same multi user issue, and by utilizing an NT workstation
with Progress loaded on it I was able to run the utility.
