Vantage Patch 5.10.117

Here's another lesser issue with the .117 patch

Open part file maintenance, select a part, create a copy of the part using
"part duplicate" from the main menu under part, change the part number and
the description in the duplicate part window, click ok, the new part does
not show the new description.
My purchasing guy created a dozen parts this way before he realized that
all the descriptions were the same. This wasn't a problem in 5.00.326.

We installed the 117 patch this morning.
We started generating invoices today and received and error about
missing GL Accounts. The error was #138 and was on all invoices
generated.

Epicor has able to reproduce this with our database this morning.

I can't say that it was the patch for sure but we ran Invoices
yesturday without a problem.

We are on SQL Server so this may not effect Progress DB users but I
thought I would let you know just in case.

We installed the 117 patch on a progress DB and had the same errors.

We also suspect some of the patch conversion programs screwed up some of our
inventory counts because our Stock Status report totals are inflated.
Epicor has our database now and is investigating.

If you don't need to install the 117 patch I would wait.

We have problems with our inventory as well. Does it seem to be only finished goods inventory?

For those of you who are on 5.10 and have not applied the 117 patch. Please
refrain from doing so. There may be some scenarios where a conversion
program can cause issues. We have 2 customer db's in-house and are looking
it and we are giving it high priority.

What do you mean by ''problems with [y]our inventory''? Did the patch change the value of your Inventory, change locations, or what? Did you do a Stock Status before/after?

No I don't have a stock status before and after just after but the qties are messed up - for instance we have one part number that on the first transaction in vantage we posted 2 to stores but the running total has 50 - somewhere it added 48 pces that we didn't and don't have -- the ones that i have found so far it put them as either "unknown" lots or blank lots... but all i can find is problems with items in finished goods.

Update:

Its looking like there should be a 118 patch tomorrow that fixes the
finished good inventory error and the "138" A/R error that cropped up after
the 117 patch install.

According to Tim Ligas they believe the Finished Goods Inventory problem was
caused by one of the conversion programs in 117 patch that incorrectly
handled packing slips that had quantities shipped from both stock and a job
on the same packing slip line item. The parts originally shipped from a job
were added back into inventory.

We installed the 117 patch and immediately had problems. Our inventory is
off in Finished Goods. Hope this is the only place. We have one part where
the system added 230 parts to the beginning entry that was posted when we
went to Vantage on 12/31/98. The stock status report is totally overstated
for the number of items and the value of those parts. I suspect that all
parts were affected because the total in Finished Goods today is about 3
times more than normal.

We are dealing with six glitches in Vantage at the moment and are going
completely crazy.

No I don't have a stock status before and after just after but the qties are
messed up - for instance we have one part number that on the first
transaction in vantage we posted 2 to stores but the running total has 50 -
somewhere it added 48 pces that we didn't and don't have -- the ones that i
have found so far it put them as either "unknown" lots or blank lots... but
all i can find is problems with items in finished goods.

We installed the 117 patch this morning.
We started generating invoices today and received and error about
missing GL Accounts. The error was #138 and was on all invoices
generated.

Epicor has able to reproduce this with our database this morning.

I can't say that it was the patch for sure but we ran Invoices
yesturday without a problem.

We are on SQL Server so this may not effect Progress DB users but I
thought I would let you know just in case.
