Vantage Printing Issue

I think it has something to do with the margins or unprintable area around the form, and when it's called within Vantage - it skews it just enough to get errors.
In our case out of 5 printers to select/print our pick ticket, only 1 printer gives us problems, so I set my windows default printer as the problem printer when working on the crystal.. If I can get it to print on the problem printer, it will print on the other printers. Unfortunately its a trial and error thing, and then we try to document it within the crystal report properties so we don't get burnt the next time we change the form.

Any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it??

Our person that receives vendor shipments has to print out labels
depending on what PO he receives that day. He does this through
Purchase Order Tracker. The performance of the "printing of the labels"
varies greatly. The worst is when he enters a PO number and pulls up
the PO. Then selects the printer icon, then selects the label form then
hits the print preview icon. Anywhere from 30 seconds to 20 minutes it
takes for the print preview to appear. This is where the "main" problem
happens... he will then view the labels to make sure everything is good
and when he is ready to print out the lables, to the Zebra Label
Printer, he hits the print button from the print preview. This is where
his PC hangs... sometimes for 20 minutes to 90 minutes. Now we don't
let it hang that long, we'll usually kill his Vantage session and try to
print the labels a little later in the day. Any ideas why his PC could
be freezing like this?

We have seen some really flakey issues when the user/machine has mapped drives to non-existent machines and network printers installed that no longer exist

If there have been any recent changes to network topography, you may want to check it out....

Sounds like perhaps a connectivity issue. Cabling would be my first
indication

Blake,
We've run into quite a few printing issues with Zebra. Crystal previews everything through the print driver and - we believe - first looks for the exact printer name saved within the report, next the specific driver, and finally a 'like' device. One thing we've done recently is to make sure the Zebra printer being used is the one saved in the report. The report designer will add a Zebra driver with the same name and driver as the user's to their workstation, open the crystal report, then save the report. Others have suggested using "No Printer" in the report but we've had problems with the label printing properly that way.
Jenn
We found Print preview verses printing directly to the printer can produce different results within Vantage, and even though printing straight from Crystal can print correclty, something when called from within Vantage can mess it up.

Whenever designing/working on Crystal reports - have the Printer that will normally print that form set as your pc/windows default printer. Then you can go into the crystal and make changes. We've also had that problem with 1 (out of 4 ) imogistics printers too. but when we ust the problem printer as our default, it seems to pick up the correct attributes.
We have the same experience with print preview verses printing directly.

What if we have several different printers that print this form? How do
we designate the default printer?
