Vantage v6.1 Inventory DEMAND?

There is a db conversion #6430 from the utilities menu (Recalculate Part on
hand allocation summaries) that will realign the demand issues. It is
generally caused by a demand that was deleted or changed. My inventory
people notice this first and I generally run the conversion about every 2-3
months. (I do not have the MRP module)

I have an item set up in part master with a minimum and maximum stock
levels 1000/3000. I have a sales order calling for 500 of same part.
I have a job set up with the sales order linked to it as well as
a 'make to stock' of 3000. When I view the part in part tracker or
anywhere else - it will show the 208 I have on Hand, but shows 0 in
DEMAND and 208 as AVAILABLE.....Does the DEMAND not work unless you
have the MRP module??? Why wouldn't it show the 292 (500 less the 208
in stock) and show 0 in available???? I should be able to see on one
screen - what I have, what DEMAND is out there and what's left
(available for purchase) - shouldn't I???

If you have the job linked directly part tracker would not show it as
demand, it considers the demand met, the same for purchased direct
parts. If you unlink the SO from the job and ship from inventory you
should be able to see the demand for 500. WIP parts do not show as
available, but once the job is finished and received into inventory the
will be available. To see the upcoming receipt you can view the part
either through time phase or part advisor.
