Chris,
This is what I used to do:
Unfortunately, you cannot 'Save Password' on the Win Mobile version of RDP. So, unfortunately you cannot circumvent the Windows Domain Login for Term Svcs.
I move the Remote Desktop icon on Win Mobile to the STARTUP of the handheld so it loads automatically. The user then enters a GENERIC & EASY domain login... I usually used something like "HH1" as the login name and "99999" as the password. Numeric passwords are easier to enter on the MC9090's.
I log into Term Svs with my laptop using the credentials for the Handheld (so I'm mimicking what the handheld will see). I then streamline the GUI and also move the MES icon to the STARTUP for that Term Svcs User. I also add the MES user name and password to the xxx.mfgsys file in C:\client of the Terminal Server session.
This way, if a handheld ever locks up, I can tell the user to hold the power button for 5 seconds and it'll reboot all the way up and bring them to the Term Svcs login on the handheld. Once they enter their easy user name and password, the next prompt they'll see is to enter their MES Employee ID.
Again, I keep all Employee ID's numeric. When using the Handhelds, it's much easier to enter numeric data from the keypad vs. alphanumeric.
Also, check out AppCenter by Motorola (who owns Symbol). Appcenter is a FREE "shell" that sits on top of Win Mobile and allows you to lock down the Win Mobile GUI so users can't browse the web and waste time with the handheld while on the shop floor.

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage - Windows Mobile 5 Terminal Service
Hi,
I've got my hand helds up and running using terminal services, but I am looking at a way of 'streamlining' the connection.
To connect, on the hand held the user has to go to Start | Terminal Services Client | Select server IP | Click Connect | Log in on the Terminal Services session with their user name and password | Double Click the Vantage HH icon on the desktop, then sign in again, then clock on.
Does anyone know of an easier way using shortcuts etc?
Thanks,
CHRIS
