We're on standard cost and are managing material and labor variances using the product group GL controls.
We would also like to track variances on resource groups and material types. "Activity based accounting"?
For example, we'd like to designate GL accounts to hold the standard cost of each part our shipping department processes and track variances to the actual labor used for that specific department across all product lines. (Technically, it is an Epicor resrouce group) We'd like to designate GL accounts for tracking our precious metals-based materials so we can track variances against standard costs for platinum across all product lines.
Is there a module or feature to do this? I can see acomplishing this with custom posting rules, but I wonder if there is a quicker, built in option I'm just not aware of.
