I called Epicor Technical Help this morning asking them to explain
to me how this transaction works. I was told it takes the actual
cost of the part at the time the parts are received into inventory.
And this information comes from the Production Detail Report of the
job it's produced on.

My problem is trying to verify these #'s. I have the print out of
the Production Detail Report the morning before the finished parts
were received into inventory and I have been using that report to
try to tie into the Unit Labor and Unit Burden Last Costs and I am
$0.35 higher in Labor and $0.80 higher in burden then what the
system calculated. I even tried to use the Production Detail Report
from the following morning and had no luck.

When I talked to the Epicor help person he told me to look at the
Part Transaction History Tracker for the detail of the transaction
and that should give me the answers I am looking for. I went to this
report and I see the #'s but still don't know how they were
calculated. Plus I have a cost in Labor Unit Cost field and Mtl
Labor Unit Cost (same for burden) but I have no idea where the Mtl
Labor/Burden Unit Cost came from since I am not aware we charge any
labor/burden to the material.

I am just trying to understand how this works so I can explain it to
others.

Thanks.
Marty,

I have information that could help, but might be better to talk via
phone

than email. Let me know if you are interested in the approach.

Questions that I would have:

what costing method is set on the part?

was there on hand inventory prior to the receipt of the job to stock?

what is the labor rate assigned to the shop employee?

what is the burden rate assigned to the resource?
