Version 8.03.403c configuration using parent/child configurations

I figured out the problem with the test rules error: I had prompt
when statements on the global variables that referenced a non-global
variable. I removed those statements and the test rules works.
However, I am still unable to add any rules or on leave statements. I
still get the following error:

** Unable to understand after -- "def var".(247)

That is not much to go on.

Has any successfully created a parent/child configuration in
8.03.403c? I have been attempting to do so but without any success.
The parent configuration goes with a hitch. However, when I attempt
to add any on leave statements or Keep When rules in the child
configuration I get the following error:

** Unable to understand after -- "def var". (247)

If I attempt to test inputs or test rules I get this error:

Compilation error in a Prompt When expression.
File 'e:\epicor\mfgsys803\Server\pcrules\tstrules\ACC.3802M0011-PW.p'
at line 147 column 9. Error 247.
The configured part will not function correctly.
Unable to generate configuration.

There are no Prompt When expressions in the configuration so I am at a
loss as to where to look. I am able to see all of the global
variables defined in the parent in the child configuration. If I
remove the child assembly from the parent then the child configuration
works correctly, with the exception that I no longer get the global
variables.

Does anyone have any idea of what might be causing the problem or what
I am doing wrong? The new technical reference for the configurator is
for version 8.03.404 which I cannot use because of other major issues.
That version has a new field added for global variables that I do not
have in version 8.03.403c so it is not much help.
Are you running a multi plant environment? You get this error if the part in
your master BOM is not set up for the plant where you are building your
configuration

e.g. Your configuration (Part A) is for a part which will be manufactured in
Plant A,
one component part (Part B) to be used in this configuration is set up in
the Part Master file but it is only associated to Plant B.

Solution - also associated Part B with Plant A

When you have the compilation error up in Vantage, go the the pw.p file
and open it (double clicking it will open it in a Progress window). Go
to that line (147) and see what it says. This will give you a clue for
finding out where it is hitting a problem.

We have the ability to run multi-plant/multi-site, i.e. we have the
module but we only have one plant set up and all of our parts exist in
that one plant.
