I am curious to see techniques and methods used by production mgrs on this forum to manage an ongoing status of multiple jobs and subcontract operations and subsequent job receipts etc. What I'm specifically interested in is to find a visual tracking methodology to help our materials team/inventory/receiving clerk track and manage the daily influx of materials in and out of inventory or jobs into other job operations or as job materials. Its getting to be quite a challenge as the volume of materials and jobs increase. I know several companies employ magnetic boards,color tags,bins etc.as visual aids. I'm open to ideas since we have an opportunity to start new. Reviewing Vantage reports is one thing but out on a busy production floor, it helps.
