Thanks for the feedback guys, I thought there must of been a fix like the
FIXCLOCK51.r for DC lock ups. I will forward this to my local epicor support
person. I think they have problems sourcing the fix from there knowledge
base when there is a number of similar topic's to search through.

This has been an interesting thread on licensing. We are having the same
problems here. I just thought it was our system. I wonder why Epicor isn't
informing me of these known problems. If it wasn't for this group I don't
know what I would do.

Bart, Dan,
You are absolutely right. The party line is, boot everyone out (might as
well reboot the server while you are at it). When I addressed this directly
with Tim L (Epicor) he filled me in that it could be run without removing
anyone. When I addressed this the next time with support, I was given the
same party line. I suggested the alternative and they said the directions
are what they are to prevent liability in the event a session should get
screwed up by the reset. The second time I talked to support I got a
separate program that works better on DC licenses. I was having a problem
with the first reset program not resetting DC users. The second one (that I
only run when a DC user can't get a license that should be there) displays a
count of valid licenses vs. "reset license procedure complete".
In short, YES you can run this with all users still in.

Aaron,
I am forced to run the resetlic.r about every month or two, because it
doesn't release licenses. I have to shut down form Vantage 15 data
collection stations and all of the desk tops before I run this program.
Are you telling me I do not have to boot everyone out of Vantage?
First of all I am shocked that the directions may be flawed, but this would
be great if I didn't have to burn off the mornings doughnuts by walking to
each work station.
Thanks for the tip, I may try it.

There is a quicker and less painful answer to this. Support has a couple of
programs that will kill the old sessions (not showing in promon) called
something like resetlic.r or something like that. I have had a big issue
with this lately, so I now have a computer that runs a modified vantage.vtg
file (set to run the .r) three times a day. This has been working
wonderfully and, unlike the directions I was sent with it, I don't boot
everyone out of Vantage before running it.
This might save a few headaches. Be sure and mention that it is DC users
that you are trying to reset.
It's been a life saver for me.

Mark,
I have the same sort of problem with the data collection licenses when one
of my data collection stations crashes. I have 3 licenses and it will tell
me I am over my limit when I only have 2 functioning at that time. The
system still thinks there is a session going where there is not. Support
has informed me (and it works for my data collection machines) that you have
to shut down and restart the database to clear the error. You have to get
everyone off the system so it is inconvenient, but you might give it a
try....hope this helps.

nothing wrong in Promon. The access to the board in only set for 2 poeple
and the other person is on hoildays.

Hi Wendy,
I found that you have to create a formula and display this field where
you
want the date range querried to appear. Try the following:
//{@DisplayDateRange}
ToText(Minimum({YourParameterFieldName})) +"To" +
ToText(Maximum({YourParameterFieldName}))
Crystal has a technical support website that addresses displaying
parameter fields in reports. the article no is c2002512. The address is
http://support.crystaldecisions.com/library/kbase/articles/c2002512.asp
hope this helps

Hey everyone!
Okay, call me a "derr" but I forgot how to display my Crystal
parameter
on my report. I have a report where the user chooses a date range and I
would like that date range parameter that they have chosen to display on
the
report. Does anyone have a refresher for me?
Thanks!
