Vmware image rename server

Good luck trying to do this with a 64-bit machine. I had a devil of a time with 1) memory issues copying the VM files around and 2) horribly slow I/O performance issues on the virtual copies. I eventually resorted to creating a 32-bit virtual machine from scratch as my Vantage test environment and am hoping for the best when I apply 408B.

I've done it 5 or 6 times. Sounds like you got everything. My DC gives me a
wicked case of heartburn about rejoining computers to the domain when I do
this but it usually get over it with time.

I've got three test servers that are exact replica of my Production server.
All built by doing what you did.

We hang out a few versions back and keep a test server on current. So I have
to have multiple clients on my machine not just different config files.

Subject: [Vantage] vmware image rename server

I am trying to create a VMware test environment Vantage 8.03.404b for
upgrade testing and other use. I used the vmware converter to create a
working image of the live system, now I need to rename it.

I took the server off the domain and renamed (prob not going to put server
back on domain).
changed the IP
Reinstalled Vantage
changed server name in database system agent
updated mfgsys files in client folder
installed on a workstation and ran it

Vantage seems to work OK, but I have a feeling this was too easy. Has anyone
done something like this?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Bryan DeRuvo
