Voiding Inventory Count Tags

Richard

Thia has been the case for as long as I can remember. I logged it with Epicor along time ago and got a 'as designed' response.

I will happily support an request for an fix.

Subject: [Vantage] Voiding Inventory Count Tags

Is it me?
We're on 6.0.525 and have just realised that if you void a count tag you get
exactly the same result as counting a tag with a zero qty, i.e. your stock
gets adjusted down to zero.
The workaround suggested by Epicor is "..for void tags, enter a qty the same
as the 'snapshot' qty".
In that case, why bother voiding at all? Surely if you void something it
should be omitted/ignored from processing. Vantage doesn't seem to do much
with void cheques so why does it with void tags?
Anybody out there have any ideas?

Regards,
Richard

Sometimes when they tell you it's a new feature like this it equates to
B.U.G.

What a ridiculous work around...fix the problem Epicor.

FYI, this isn't a new feature. This issue has been around for at least 6-7 years in one form or another. Until they added subcomponent security to the "void" function we had training before each inventory count where we stressed the importance of not voiding an inventory tag...EVER! The addition of subcomponent security helped since now we just secure the "void" function so that no one can access this function.

We're still on 5.1 so I'm hoping that subcomponent security still exists for void in 6.0.
