Walmart Blank Title 71891

The criteria wizard only seems to have numeric comparators (=, <, >, <>, etc.,) and not the MATCHES I would expect would absolutely work with *your-phrase* if all progress language was suported in the wizard.

I think you might have to construct a calculated field with an If statement (True if your table.field MATCHES *your-phrase*, else FALSE) and then use sorting to effectively get the result you want.

Perhaps someone knows a better way???

Is it possible to create a BAQ that will search for text like
*sometext*, like with wildcard characters?

For example, I want to see all LaborDtl.LaborNote records with the
text TM-74 in them. In MS Access I would search for:

"*" & [Enter the text: ] & "*" (and I would enter TM-74)

Thanks!

Does anyone else out there deal with Walmart? Are you required to upload csv files to their PO Tracking system?

I would like to know how you are creating your csv.

No ties to Walmart, but you should be able to create a BAQ containing the data they are interested in (and in the layout desired) and then just export it to csv (just as you can export BAQ returned datasets to xml).

If the csv field formats require special formatting (like preceding
zeros) then good luck with a BAQ. But if you figure out how to do it
I'd love to know.

If you can provide a sample of what the upload should look like then
I'd take a look at it. We run weekly and monthly exports to upload
into other financial systems but not through BAQs.

Create a Calculated field as a string and format it with the Progress String
function:

String(OrderDtl.OrderQty,"9999999.99")

will give you a ten character field with leading and trailing zeros.

Mark W.
To retain leading zeroes for a .csv file which normally is opened by Excel, you must turn it into a formula. For example if your value is 0123, you would store it as ="0123". This would make it a left-justified text field as well.

Yes. Just make your BAQ a Quick Search and choose PartNum as a "Like" field.
The user can then do wildcard searches, plus you control which fields they
see and can sort them as you wish.
